I had a mastectomy to my right breast on 7th March 2011 & took part in a clinical trial which - to cut to the chase - helped me to reach the conclusion that I didn't want chemotherapy. I didn't have radiotherapy either.
Three weeks after my mastectomy, I started endocrine (hormonal) treatment.
I will now be having Zoladex injections for the next 3 years & will be taking Tamoxifen tablets for the next 5 years.
My prognosis was/is good; I had no spread to the lymph nodes & the clinical trial I took part in, has estimated that I have only a 13% chance of developing breast cancer again in the next ten years.
However, my diagnosis has affected EVERY part of my life.
This blog has been cathartic for me.
Feel free to follow me on 'my journey' if you will.
Love Chez. xx
